Renovation Opaallaan

Since 1995 the towers of the Opaallaan in Hoofddorp have provided housing for more than 500 students. The buildings are now 27 years old and maintenance is necessary to preserve them for the future.

DUWO will renovate towers 1, 8 and 10. We will keep you informed about the plans on this page.

What does a renovation look like?

Renovation means that urgently necessary work is carried out in the residential buildings and that improvements/changes are also made in the building.

In the case of the Opaallaan, this concerns, for example, the privatization of the residential units, measures to improve quality of life and safety, such as more and better lighting in the corridors, glass openings in the doors of the general areas and we install cameras in the elevator and in the entrance hall. In addition, attention is paid to fire safety. The bicycle shed will also be redesigned so that it is more pleasant to use. Sustainability measures are being taken, such as better insulation of the building and the installation of solar panels on the roof.

Relocation allowance

If you have to move during the renovation of Opaallaan, you are entitled to a moving expense allowance. You can read more about this below.
