Since 1967, the towers of the Flanorpad have provided housing for 244 students on the outskirts of Leiden. A beautiful location to live. The buildings are now half a century old and maintenance is necessary to preserve them for the future.
DUWO is preparing to start the renovation of the Flanorpad from 1 May 2023. In addition to a different group division and the construction of sanitary units on each floor, the installations are being renewed. Many sustainability measures will also be taken, such as: Wall insulation, the installation of HR ++ glass, connection to district heating, induction cooking instead of gas cooking and the installation of solar panels on the roof.
Residents of the first tower will move to the city center at the end of January 2023 and will stay there during the work. According to the schedule, they will move back at the end of 2023, after which towers 2, 6 and 7 will follow.
