Amsterdam University College (AUC) has reserved rooms and apartments for its students.
You may choose from two types of rooms:
The rooms have linoleum (carpeting) and curtains; you are not allowed to change these. There is no stove in the kitchen. Some rooms have a kitchen cabinet or shelf (hung by a previous resident). Rooms for AUC exchange students are furnished. They consist of linoleum and curtains, a bed, closet, desk and chair.Shared roomIn a shared room, you share your bedroom with at least one other person (depending on the type of house). This will always be someone of the same sex as you. Once all students have been assigned a room, we will let you know by e-mail who your room-mate is. Should your room-mate cancel, you should take into account that we may assign a new room-mate to you at any time. The sizes of shared rooms vary. There are small, shared double rooms of approximately 30 m2, as well as three-room apartments for 4 people, with two bedrooms and a living room.Non-shared room (studio)In a studio, you do not share the kitchen, shower, living room and toilet with another student. Some studios have a common area in the hallway.
