Residents’ participation and residents’ committee
DUWO values residents’ participation. Therefore, we stay in close contact with our tenants. For example, we enter into agreements with tenants’ organisations and regularly consult with the residents’ committee of a student complex. In the larger student complexes, we stay in touch with nestors and group representatives. In short, plenty of opportunities for residents’ participation! Therefore we are looking for enthousiastic residents who are willing to participate in a residents' commitee or who want to start as a nestor.
As an tenant of DUWO University Housing you can also turn to the residents' organisation, the residents' committee and the nestor/representative of your complex.
Nestors or group elders and group representatives.
In many student complexes, DUWO is in direct contact with nestors or group elders and group representatives. DUWO appoints nestors or group elders and provides them with a fee for their work.
Besides the caretaker, the nestor is also a direct contact point if, for example, there are problems in the building.
The group representative is your immediate contact person for problems on the floor, for example, or doubts in case of an internal moving.
Residents’ committee
Many DUWO student complexes have a residents’ committee. The residents elect the members of this committee. The residents’ committee consults with DUWO at least three times per year on service costs, nuisance and maintenance to the student complex, among other things.
