Do you live in student housing or a student flat where it is customary to select new residents by means of a vote-in? Great, because that will allow you and your co-residents to help decide who will be moving in with you! Arranging your own vote-in is easy. Everyone in your group will receive an e-mail in which they are informed of the date on which a room will become available. Next step: arranging the vote-in.
A vote-in is not allowed for Accommodate rooms.
Using My DUWO, you can create an advertisement to recruit a new co-resident, if you like. The information pertaining to your home is already present on the tenants’ web portal. The only thing one of the members of your group will need to do, is to add some appealing promotional text.
Are there any residents who would like to move internally to another room within your group? This, too, you can do through My DUWO. Do this as soon as possible. Following approval by DUWO, you can arrange a vote-in for the room that ultimately becomes available.
Once you have selected a candidate, one of you must nominate this candidate through My DUWO. All co-residents will receive confirmation of the nomination by e-mail.The candidate voted in must be a full-time student and study or do an internship in the region of the house. The priority scheme also applies to the vote-in. The candidate voted in must meet the requirements of the priority scheme during the first year.
If you are unable to nominate a candidate before the set deadline, please contact DUWO to discuss whether the deadline could be extended. If you fail to nominate a candidate on time, DUWO will allocate the room to someone of its own choice and arranging a vote-in will no longer be possible.
