Renovation Fortuinhof

This page is intended for residents of the DUWO building on Fortuinhof

Project description

Fortuinhof 1 to 50 in Deventer, built in 1983, consists of two buildings, Block 1 and Block 5. DUWO acquired the complex in 2015. After years of routine maintenance, major renovations are now necessary. Fortuinhof houses both students with campus contracts and non-students with regular rental agreements.

In the first quarter of 2025, DUWO will begin renovations to make the housing more sustainable, pending permits and preparations.

In recent years, DUWO has conducted several studies on the buildings' conditions to create a plan that integrates sustainability and residents' needs. The studies revealed that residents desire a less somber and safer appearance for the complex, extensive maintenance, and increased comfort. These aspects will be included in the project along with other improvements. Currently, the apartments are heated with outdated wall heaters and water heaters, which will be replaced with electric heating and a sustainable hot water system.

The renovation will focus on sustainability, improving the hot water supply, and adjusting housing types. For more information, see the social plan.
