Renovation E. du Perronlaan

This page is intended for residents of the DUWO building on E. du Perronlaan

The building at E. du Perronlaan 2-864, also known as Staalbouw due to its steel construction, was built in 1966. It was first renovated in 1988. The building is home to Dutch and international students living in groups of 3, 6, and 8.

In the third quarter of 2026, DUWO will begin the renovation. This is necessary to prepare the building for the future. The building will be connected to the district heating network, the installations will be renewed, and a well-insulated façade will be installed. Additional student housing will be added. The building will also be made safer in terms of fire safety, and the kitchens and bathrooms will be renovated.

In recent years, DUWO has conducted research into the condition of the buildings, which allowed for a plan that combines sustainability with residents’ wishes. The resident survey showed that residents prefer living in groups and that safety is important. These points, along with other improvements, have been incorporated into the plan. If you have to move during the renovation, you are entitled to a moving expense allowance. This allowance is intended to cover the costs you incur for the move.
