The Netherlands is striving to be among the top 5 knowledge nations in the world. This means that a significant part of the economic growth in society must come from knowledge. This requires many talents.
Housing is an important precondition for attracting talented students. In the National Plan of Action for Student Housing [Landelijk Actieplan Studentenhuisvesting, or LAS], dating from 2011, it was agreed that the social student housing organisations, united under Kences, will provide 16,000 additional student rooms by 2016. On www.dekenniseconomie.nl, you can see what progress is being made in the realisation of this goal.
