Binck City Park / Callistoweg

Reading time: 2 minutes

In the Binckhorst district of The Hague, the new development Binck City Park was completed on March 27, 2025. It consists of four residential towers connected around a shared rooftop garden with an underground parking garage beneath it. The project includes 896 apartments for various target groups.

In Block 3 of the project, there are 197 self-contained student apartments that DUWO leases from the building owner. The development was carried out by Rockfield and VORM, and after completion, the apartments will be owned by M&G. The residences are located at Callistoweg 202–594, right next to one of The Hague’s oldest buildings: Castle De Binckhorst. From the Common Room on the ground floor, residents can enjoy a view of the castle.

In the artist’s impression of the project, Block 3 can be seen in the lower left corner—the brick-colored block spanning the full width of the image, with seven stories.

The apartments

There are 197 self-contained units, all furnished, and a portion also fully equipped for international students. Some apartments on the sides of the building feature a balcony.

Facilities

In addition to a Common Room, the building includes a laundry room and a large multi-level indoor bicycle parking facility with an electric conveyor belt.

The surroundings

The Binckhorst district is being transformed from an old industrial area into a modern residential neighborhood, where living and working are combined in a mix of historic and new buildings, surrounded by greenery. According to the municipality, it will become an area of “global appeal and high urban quality.” The location is excellent—just a stone’s throw from The Hague city center.

Sustainability

The building is connected to Eneco BinckNet, a decentralized heating network that uses aquifer thermal energy storage (ATES) systems as the basis for supplying heating and cooling. Combined with high-quality insulation and ventilation solutions, this results in very good energy ratings (A++).

Another notable feature is the rooftop garden, also known as the roof park, due to its large size. It is a biodiverse park, designed as a nature-inclusive ecosystem providing habitats for birds, bees, caterpillars, and butterflies—a beautiful place for residents to relax.
