DescriptionThis monumental building on Wolterbeekstraat, also known as the 'DUWO House of Music', is exclusively intended for students at the Royal Conservatory. These houses are therefore only for students of the conservatory.It's the ideal place for students of the Royal Conservatory. They can live and rehearse in one of the 43 fully sound-insulated spacious houses with their own kitchen, bathroom and toilet. Drummers are not accepted to live in this building.The building has a large common area of ninety square metres, where students can make music together. The common room is for residents only. The building also has a bicycle shed.DUWO House of Music is located in the centre of The Hague, near the Hollands Spoor railway station. The building has a turbulent past. It was originally built as a catholic school for girls, but in the eighties it was the largest brothel in Europe. At the beginning of 2000 the building was bought by the municipality of The Hague, who wanted to uphold the characteristic building and decided to turn it into a student housing.
