What is the Hotchpot?
Cooking together is a perfect way to spend time together and get to know each other better. The Hotchpot is a special communal space in the student complex with a fully equipped kitchen, spacious dining tables and cozy corners for studying or relaxing. It is a brand new concept from DUWO to apply in our new construction projects. The Hotchpot in Balpol4, as we also call the building, is the first location where we brought this idea to life.
Sustainable and practical
The Hotchpot was designed by Pubblik & Vos and partly furnished with second-hand furniture, with a focus on sustainability and comfort. In addition to the kitchen and cozy seating areas, you will find books and games for entertainment. A special element are the loan cupboards, filled with practical items that residents can use freely and supplement with items to share, such as tools or a citrus press.
A place for everyone
The Hotchpot is open daily from 8am to 11pm, giving residents the freedom to drop in at any time. Students have access to this lovely space with their own key and can also reserve parts of the space for joint activities, such as a movie night or a group dinner. To turn the Hotchpot into a real community place, we have appointed two enthusiastic student administrators. They manage the space and organize fun activities, such as game nights, cooking and dining together and other moments to get together.
The new Hotchpot offers countless possibilities for collaboration and connection. We look forward to the wonderful experiences and memories this cozy space will bring to students!
