Applying in September for the Havenkwartier in Deventer
The Havenkwartier is a new student complex located on Scheepvaartstraat in Deventer. DUWO is offering 139 self-contained student accommodation units for rental, the majority of which are 24 m2 studios. Rent is very affordable: after deducting the housing benefit (beginning at 18 years of age), it comes to €315 a month. There are also a number of two-room apartments (for which you can receive housing benefits beginning at 23 years of age).
The new student flats on Scheepvaartstraat are conveniently located less than 10 minutes' walk from the Saxion University of Applied Sciences and the delightful town centre of Deventer, and only 15 minutes from the train station. The Havenkwartier's location is ideal for student accommodation. The area was originally built 100 years ago as an inland harbour, but in recent years it has been undergoing redevelopment, allowing it to become a trendy hotspot with a lot of interesting things going on. The old harbour buildings accommodate creative entrepreneurs and a busy food court, and there’s plenty to do in terms of art, culture, cafés, and nightlife. Larger public events often take place in the neighbourhood, including music festivals, markets, and workshops, all while the port is still being used for shipping. The site includes a lot of industrial heritage, and the student complex was designed by Te Kiefte Architects to take this into account.
Are you looking for student accommodation in Deventer? Would you like to live in the Havenkwartier? You can soon apply for accommodation in this new complex via the ROOM website; it’s expected that the advertisements will be placed around mid-September. The accommodation will be ready in the third quarter. To be eligible you must be a full-time student.
