DUWO launches campaign against unauthorized use of the residence

Reading time: 2 minutes

DUWO is launching a campaign against unauthorized use of the residence. With this campaign, we aim to raise awareness among tenants, neighbours, and other stakeholders about housing fraud and encourage them to report any suspicious situations. By actively addressing the misuse of our properties, DUWO helps ensure that students can live safely and fairly.

At DUWO, we believe it’s important that housing is used fairly and that every resident enjoys a safe living environment. That’s why we’ve launched a campaign calling on tenants, neighbors, and others to report any suspicions of unauthorized use of the residence.

What can you do?

Watch out for signs such as:

  • Unusual smells (e.g., cannabis or chemical odors)
  • Warm walls or excessive heat
  • Unusual comings and goings at odd hours
  • Curtains always closed
  • Multiple people entering and leaving the property

How to report your suspicion

You can report it via:

  • The contact form on the DUWO website or in the app
  • By phone
  • In person at one of our offices

You can also report anonymously through our channels — your privacy is guaranteed.

What happens after you report something?

We will start a careful investigation, if necessary in cooperation with relevant authorities such as the police and the municipality.
If unauthorized occupancy is confirmed, we may take action, including termination of the tenancy agreement, legal proceedings, fines, or recovery of damages.

All reports are handled confidentially. We may sometimes ask for additional information, but providing it is not mandatory.
