Do not throw objects from balconies

Reading time: 2 minutes

Beer crates, pallets, bottles, garbage bags; There are often all kinds of things on the balconies of student flats. Although it seems obvious to many, throwing these objects down is extremely dangerous. DUWO would like to emphasize that tenants who do this will be dealt with strictly. It can even lead to the loss of your lease.

The most bizarre cases of objects being thrown down occur in student flats. Over the years, DUWO has received reports of, among other things, a deep fryer, a chair, a barbecue and even a shopping cart. In one exceptional case, an entire piano was even thrown off a balcony! These objects pose a serious danger to passers-by on the street. Smaller objects falling from heights can also cause serious accidents.

Tenants are therefore urgently requested not to throw anything over the railing or stacking objects so high that they could fall down. This also applies to the behavior of visitors. As a tenant, you are both legally and contractually responsible for the actions of your guests (Article 7:213 of the Civil Code and Article 9.9 of the DUWO rental conditions). Violations can lead to termination of your rental contract.

Safety comes first, and only together we can prevent dangerous situations.
