DUWO

Paying the rent

Rent is but one of many monthly costs.Paying the rent
Rent needs to be paid in advance of the month in question, which means that DUWO should receive the rent before the first day of each month. Rent can be paid in a variety of ways – by direct debit, giro collection or at the DUWO offices (NO cash payment).

Back

Direct debit
You can authorise DUWO to debit your account on the first day of each month. If you choose this option, complete an authorisation card and send it to DUWO. You can of course cancel the direct debit mandate at a later date, and even reverse a debit from your account until a month after the event.

Back

Giro collection
If you choose this option, DUWO will send you a giro collection form at the end of the month. This gives you plenty of time to transfer the rent to DUWO before the first day of the following month.

Back

Payment at the office
Rent can be paid at the DUWO offices. DUWO prefers payments to be made by switch (debit) card; per 1 January it is NOT possible to pay in cash.

Back

Outstanding rent
DUWO will send you a reminder if you do not pay the rent. Should you ignore this reminder, you will receive a final warning. Please be aware that an administration fee will be charged here.
If you persist to ignore the reminders, you can expect to receive notice from a bailiff. You will also be responsible for the extrajudicial collection costs incurred by DUWO in collecting the outstanding rent. You are strongly advised not to let things get this serious.

Repayment schedule
If you know that you will not be able to pay the rent on the first day of the month, contact DUWO as soon as possible. DUWO will arrange a repayment schedule free of charge. However, it is not always possible to take such measures.
The conditions attached to a repayment schedule are dependent on your personal situation and will be discussed with you at the DUWO offices. Should you have debts that you can no longer pay, DUWO can provide you with information regarding debt repayment agencies.
